Way back in Studio 12 Will Aronson, Rachel Jett, and Julianne Wick Davis are delving into the classics. The three are using their time to develop three short musicals inspired by one of the patron saints of drama: Anton Chekhov. Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair are going to freak you out. Their focus during the two Writer’s Co-op weeks is not on typical musical fare - love, happiness, smiles - but death. Specifically: murder. Joe and Kellen’s killer mystery Murder For Two is getting fully fleshed out here at CAP21 before it heads to a workshop production at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY.

Writer's Co-op: Getting ink on paper
Alex Gemignani and Brad Bauner are loving their fancy new office in Studio 8. It may not look fancy, but having these two weeks to use a nice sunny space with a piano is just what these two need to put in some serious composition time for their projects. They are working on two musicals: one a cycle of songs about living in New York City and the other an adaptation of the film The Truman Show.

Writer's Co-op: Playing games
Randy Blair and Tim Drucker, both CAP21 alums, have spent a lot of time working in The Shop and a large dance studio this week. This isn’t just out of nostalgia for old jazz classes - their work is massive. They hope to create, as Randy said, “epic classical theater that’s funny.”
